ECA Announces Industry Slate Day

London, UK ( October 23, 2017 ) -

The Event Cinema Association has announced a new initiative designed to help raise the profile of the industry and facilitate business growth amongst exhibitors and distributors alike. The ECA Slate Day takes place from 9am on December 6, 2017 at Vue West End in London and will feature presentations of upcoming content from ECA members and non members alike, who will be speaking to an audience made up of exhibitors from the UK and beyond, followed by a drinks reception at lunchtime.

Spearheaded by Johnny Carr, ECA board member and Alternative Content Manager at Vue , the concept is an extension of the long standing Slate Presentations hosted by the major studios regularly to communicate their upcoming projects to the exhibition community.

Vue’s commitment to the Event Cinema industry is increasingly well known and their aggressive acquisition of content is making the circuit a market leader in this field. Their acclaimed high budget This Is Not A Cinema promo hit cinemas several months ago to alert audiences that their venues show a wide variety of content, and in partnership with Sky they recently broadcast the MacGregor-Mayweather fight live in the UK and Ireland cinemas with huge success.

Johnny Carr said, “Our association with the Event Cinema Association is part of a larger mission at Vue to grow the Event Cinema sector as we believe it to be an increasingly vital element of exhibition. We are delighted to be working with the ECA to help spread the word of all the great content out there for venues to see for themselves for the first time.”

Melissa Cogavin, Managing Director of the Event Cinema Association said, “Back in June in Barcelona we tried a small version of this slate presentation and the feedback was nothing but positive, so we are really happy to be dedicating a whole morning to this concept with the help of our friends and fellow board members at Vue. We are really looking forward to welcoming the exhibition and distribution communities on December 6 and seeing some fabulous new projects hit our screens.”

Each participant will have between 5-15 minutes to present their work directly to clients in a dedicated 270-seater auditorium that has recently seen a lavishrefurbishment.   Sponsored by Jack Roe, tickets will be on sale this week (w/c 23 October) and will be limited. Tickets are £25 for members, £45 for non members, and for distributors interested in presenting, the cost is £250 + VAT. Please email info@eventcinemaassociation.org for details on how to participate.
