Eclair Theatrical Services, a leading European player in mastering and digital & physical distribution services to cinemas, is proud to be, for the sixteenth consecutive year, a partner of the Locarno Film Festival.
The 74th edition of the Locarno Film Festival will be held from August 4 to 14, 2021, in Piazza Grande in Locarno, in the city’s cinemas as well as in the usual temporary screening sites. The rich and varied programming has returned to the levels of the pre-COVID editions. Since this year, under the artistic direction of Giona A. Nazzaro, # Locarno74 promises to delight its professional amateurs and moviegoers, once again physically meeting in a magical setting to discover the works selected in competition and out of competition. Eclair Theatrical Services has been supporting the Festival since 2006, for the encoding and conformity control of its films, short and feature films. Presented as part of the Histoire du Cinéma program, the feature film Al-massir by Youssef Chahine, has been restored and mastered in 4K by Eclair.
“It’s a long collaboration that exists between the Festival and Eclair, on multiple technical aspects. We work together for a common goal: the promotion of cinematographic works. Each year, nearly 250 hours of content are processed by our Liège-Barchon laboratory in around ten weeks. This edition will inevitably be special with everyone’s desire to meet physically to celebrate the magic of cinema ”, comments Marie-Laure Barrau Region Manager for Northern Europe.
