Leading trade publication and independent media outlet Celluloid Junkie (CJ) has launched its brand new restructured sponsorship strategy, working alongside business development specialist, Guillaume Branders of studio funambule. The new strategy seeks to repackage and streamline CJ’s services and offerings while providing sponsorship options for a wide range of budgets, to enable companies of all sizes to work with CJ to support the team’s output and the platform’s international reach.
As one of the only media outlets to solely and specifically cover the cinema exhibition industry, Los Angeles & London-based organisation Celluloid Junkie is 100% funded through sponsorship and advertising. To facilitate growth and further the company’s ambitions of covering the theatrical exhibition and wider film industry as thoroughly as possible, the CJ team began working with Brussels-based consultant Branders, to launch a new approach to CJ’s business development in the early weeks of 2025. Having consolidated all the necessary information, as of April 2025 the team has now begun the official outreach phase, with Branders spearheading the effort in the role of sponsorship director.
As part of the sponsorship drive and having just opened nominations for CJ’s most-read article, Top Women in Global Cinema (TWIGC), now in its ninth edition, the team is currently reaching out to potential sponsors in the film distribution and cinema technology manufacturing industries. 2024’s edition of TWIGC attracted an impressive 98k page views and is one of, if not the, most anticipated annual project that the CJ team puts together, to address the issue of gender equality. If you would like to nominate any candidates for consideration for the 2025 list, please get in touch via this form. If you’re interested in supporting this year’s list or CJ’s work in general, please contact sponsorship@celluloidjunkie.com.
