
Having recently launched its Top Women in Global Cinema initiative for 2025, Celluloid Junkie (CJ) is proud to announce Branden Miller, Principle, In-Theatre Marketing and Distribution of Amazon MGM Studios, will be joining the selection committee. Miller joins the previously announced members of the committee; Laure Galtier of the International Union of Cinemas’ (UNIC), Michelle Villegas of The Boxoffice Company and veteran exhibition executive, Mariam El Bacha.
Los Angeles-based Miller brings forty-three years of expertise in theatrical exhibition and distribution, having developed in-theatre marketing and distribution strategies for over 400 theatrical releases spanning major blockbusters and critically acclaimed independent films. As Head of In-Theatre Marketing for Amazon MGM Studios, Miller oversees theatrical campaigns for Metro Goldwyn Mayer, Orion Pictures, and United Artists releases across the US and Canada. His recent work includes campaigns for “Red One,” “Air,” and “Challengers.” During his twenty-five-year tenure at 20th Century Fox, Miller directed domestic in-theatre marketing across multiple divisions including Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox International Productions, BlueSky Animation, New Regency Productions, and DreamWorks Animation. His portfolio features some of cinema’s highest-grossing releases, including “Avatar,” the first three “Star Wars” prequels, “Independence Day,” and the “Ice Age” franchise.
This year’s nomination and selection process for Top Women in Global Cinema is the first to include a set of three criteria that candidates must be able to demonstrate. Introduced purely due to the volume and calibre of nominations received in the previous couple of years, the purpose of the criteria is to make it easier for those nominating, while also providing guidance to the selection committee to ensure a truly global, worthy list is produced. Nominees should demonstrate how they have made a positive difference in their business beyond their daily work, and contributed to the broader exhibition industry. Along with any career highlights and background information, please be sure to update any nomination with new, relevant accomplishments from the last 12-18 months.
The deadline for submissions is May 26th and the list will be published on June 10th, just prior to CineEurope in Barcelona, Spain (16-19th June).
