Digital Cinema Distribution Coalition Surpasses 30,000 U.S. Theater Screens Amid Record Growth

Contracts With New Exhibitor Customers Result in Another Major Milestone for Transformative Content Distribution Organization

Los Angeles ( March 23, 2017 ) -

Digital Cinema Distribution Coalition (DCDC), the transformative North American theatrical content distribution company founded as a true industry initiative by AMC Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, Regal Entertainment Group, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. Entertainment, today announced that it now has under contract more than 30,000 theater screens in the United States (in the more than 2,650 theatre sites belonging to the 179 Exhibitors it has under contract).

This milestone follows another record-setting year of across-the-board growth in all key exhibitor and content delivery categories. Additionally, DCDC reported that since its inception in October 2013, the Company has made more than 1,000,000 successful deliveries of features, trailers, and other content to its exhibitor customers from its 36 content provider customers (which includes all the major studios and other leading content providers).

“We are extremely pleased with the unprecedented speed of the adoption of our satellite distribution network. We have brought enormous operational, creative, and economic benefit to large portions of the industry in the relatively short period of time since our official launch three and a half years ago.” said DCDC CEO Randy Blotky. “We have surpassed our initial projections while maintaining a high level of service to our customers. In its second direct year-to-year comparison, DCDC finished 2016 with sizeable increases in every significant category, including the number of screens, exhibitors, content distributors, installed satellite sites, and deliveries of content.

2016 Year End Milestones (vs. 2015):

Exhibitors:
Number of contracted screens jumped 20%, nearing 30,000 at the end of 2016
Number of installed satellite sites leapt 15% to surpass 2,300 at the end of 2016
Number of signed exhibitors soared 70% to more than 170 at the end of 2016

Content Providers:
Number of content providers signed increased 13% to 36 at the end of 2016

Film Deliveries:
Number of titles delivered increased 11% to 221
