ODEON – the UK and Ireland’s largest cinema chain – has today announced it will be transforming its iconic Holloway establishment into a luxury cinema, making it the latest addition to the ODEON Luxe cinema estate.
The major upgrade will bring with it the latest state-of-the-art cinema technology, including handmade reclining seats for a spectacular viewing experience while it preserves and enhances its 20th century charm.
The cinema, a long-time staple of Holloway road and the local community, will retain its original art deco features, such as its sweeping staircase, which has been repainted and brought back to its original wood finish, and its intricately ornate ceiling. Additionally, the building’s original Crittall windows have all been repaired and restored. The refurbishment will also reintroduce the cinema’s original mezzanine level, known as Oscar’s Lounge, where guests will be able to enjoy a drink overlooking the foyer which will feature replicas of the cinema’s original chandeliers.
To add to the impressive viewing experience, all screens will be equipped with breath-taking sound delivered by over 130 speakers across all auditoriums, boasting Dolby 7.1 surround sound and state-of-the-art picture quality.
The new-look cinema will offer the full Luxe treatment, including new food and drink options such as lattice fries, chicken strips, sweet and salted popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, Tango Ice Blast and a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine with over 100 different flavours to enjoy. It will also feature an Oscar’s Bar serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and an onsite Costa coffee corner.

Holloway locals can experience ODEON Luxe Holloway as the new-look cinema relaunches in time for the year’s most exciting films, including No Time to Die (2 April), Black Widow (1 May) and Spiral: From The Book of Saw (15 May). The cinema remains open during refurbishment works for guests to enjoy current showings.
