A New Immersive Experience Arrives at Cinépolis Escala Morelia with the ScreenX Format

Cinépolis, the leading Mexican film exhibition company, and CJ 4DPLEX, the world’s leading producer of premium film formats and cinema technologies, announced the opening of the first MacroXE ScreenX theater at its Escala Morelia complex (Plaza Morelia), in the state of Morelia, Michoacán. The opening of this format will elevate the cinema experience to unprecedented levels, complementing Cinépolis’ commitment as the leading exhibitor in the country.

The opening of the ScreenX theater at Cinépolis Escala Morelia is in addition to the two theaters already available in the country; and that, due to the characteristics of the format, becomes a truly differentiated experience that revolutionizes traditional cinema. ScreenX implements a 270º multi-projection system. The combining of MacroXE’s immersive sound and 19m center screen with ScreenX will create a unique premium experience for the Cinepolis movie goers.

The MacroXE ScreenX of Escala Morelia will have its first screening with the long-awaited premiere of “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”, the long-awaited sequel directed by the incomparable Tim Burton, which takes the audience back to the gothic and eccentric world that fascinated generations. Michael Keaton returns as the irreverent and eccentric ghost, Beetlejuice, while Winona Ryder reprises her iconic role as Lydia Deetz, now as a mother with teenager Astrid Deetz (Jenna Ortega).
