Moviegoers in Cannes can now enjoy immersive multisensory cinema as Cineum Cannes is the first cinema in France boosted by Flexound Augmented Audio.
Cineum Cannes is designed by architect Rudy Ricciotti and the multiplex has 12 auditoriums and more than 2200 seats in a spectacular architectural setting. The new Lodge cinema concept provides a unique experience by adding personal immersive audio with physical vibration to each seat and a luxury dine-in cinema concept.
Cineum Cannes partners with the best audio brands such as IMAX, DTS, Dolby and Flexound Augmented Audio. Complementing the DTS:X sound system Flexound Augmented Audio is installed in all the seats of the Lodge auditorium, providing personal immersive audio and natural vibration.
“The icing on the cake is the addition of our Finnish partner Flexound Augmented Audio that is integrated into the seats. The technology enables much clearer dialogue, increased dynamic range, and additional natural vibration enabling an emotional intake of sound that cannot be matched through traditional speakers”, Director of Cineum Cannes, Laurent Raffaëlli says.
“Once you have enjoyed a movie with Flexound the ordinary audio just feels, well, too ordinary. Our patented technology creates value that you just cannot experience by staying at home”, Flexound CEO, Isak Olevic says.
Cinemas boosted by Flexound Augmented Audio are now operating on two continents. The technology enhances the cinema sound experience with high-quality personal sound and physical vibration in each individual seat. According to the market research 96% say Flexound experience is very good or good, and 91% recommend the Flexound experience to others. Flexound has also launched the world’s first loudspeaker-free cinema sound system – Flexound Pulse.
The grand opening of Cineum Cannes Lodge auditorium was celebrated with the live streaming of Cendrillon from Paris on 7th April 2022. The multiplex is also an official screening location for Cannes Film Festival 2022.
Lodge Auditorium’s red velvet reclining seats with Flexound Augmented Audio are supplied by Ferco Seating.
