Alamo Drafthouse Launches Trick or Treat Cinema

Alamo Drafthouse has launched its Trick or Treat Cinema

Family-friendly frights, spooky sweets, and discount tickets with "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Hotel Transylvania 3", "Coco", "Casper", and "The Addams Family"

Austin, TX ( October 1, 2020 ) -

As you’ll recall from your early years, the only thing that wasn’t great about Halloween was that it was just the one day…

Imagine if you could have five Halloweens in one month? Well, keep your family’s trusty pumpkin buckets handy, because each weekend in October, Alamo Drafthouse is celebrating Halloween with family-friendly all age frights at wallet-friendly prices – and kids get treats just for attending.

We call it Trick or Treat Cinema, and you’re all invited. Here’s what we’ve got planned.

First of all, it wouldn’t be a proper Trick or Treat Cinema if no one was wearing a costume – this is the perfect opportunity for your kids to show off their outfits in a clean, safe environment. And to top it off, every child who attends gets free treats.

Each Trick or Treat Cinema screening is marked as an All Ages show – whenever you see that badge, it means:

  • Save a little dough – tickets for kids 12 and under are discounted!
  • All ages are allowed, with no restrictions (with parent or guardian supervision, naturally). That means babies, toddlers, and young kids can attend.
  • It stands to reason that babies are going to make noise and cause disruption, so our No Talking policy is loosened for these shows. (Hey, we didn’t say anything about texting – that stays the same. No using your cell phones or iPads or Nintendo Switch during the show, okay?)
  • These aren’t Sensory Friendly screenings – volume and lighting is set at normal theater levels – but we’re looking forward to bringing Sensory Friendly shows back soon.
  • Looking for a way to take your family, group of friends, or podmates out for some fun in your very own personal theater? For a limited time at participating Alamo Drafthouse locations, you can book any Trick or Treat Cinema title as Your Own Private Alamo shows, starting at just $150.
