Industry Veteran Recognized for Her Decades-Long Work in Cinema Advertising

Screenvision Media, a national leader in cinema advertising, today announced that Darryl Schaffer, the company’s Executive Vice President, Operations & Exhibitor Relations, was officially inducted into ShowEast’s Hall of Fame as part of its 2017 group of honorees.

Each year, ShowEast – dubbed “the film convention” – selects a small group of notable cinema industry executives to induct into its Hall of Fame. In addition to Schaffer, this year’s group of honorees included: Nick Carpou, President, Domestic Distribution, Universal Pictures; John Lundin, Former VP of Film, Carmike Cinemas; Elaine Purdy, Former VP, Studio Relations, National Amusements; Paul Springer, Former Senior VP, Paramount Pictures; Don Tannenbaum, President, The Inter-Society, Former Senior VP, Systems & Sales Operations, Warner Bros.; and Doug Whitford, Head Buyer, Southern Theatres.

Logging more than 25 years at Screenvision Media, Schaffer oversees the company’s network of exhibitor partners and its network operations. She is responsible for the growth of Screenvision Media’s network and oversees the signing of all long-term contracts, including its ten largest exhibitor partners. Additionally, Darryl provides enhanced solutions for exhibitor partners through strategic alliances with a variety of companies in the broader exhibition space.

Schaffer currently serves as the Chair of Screenvision Media’s Exhibitor Advisory Panel. For her contributions to the industry, Box Office named her one of its leading Women in Exhibition and Distribution. In addition, she was recently named one of Celluloid Junkie’s Top 50 Women in Global Cinema, and represented Screenvision Media in accepting recognition as Vendor of the Year at the 2017 Geneva Convention. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Art History from Syracuse University.
