GDC Technology

GDC Technology showcases future technologies available today including the game-changing SR-1000 Standalone IMBTM.

Miami, Florida ( October 23, 2018 ) -

GDC Technology Limited, a leading global provider of digital cinema solutions, today announced a series of live demonstrations of its award-winning Cinema Automation 2.0 (CA2.0) at ShowEast 2018. The GDC cinema team will host live demonstrations that will also include previewing the new GDC SR-1000 IMB with CineCache™ (cache memory).

The live demonstrations will be held every hour from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23 and Wednesday, October 24 in the Triton Meeting Room on the third level of the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. The demonstrations will model the successful technology roadshow format conducted recently in Los Angeles and Dallas. As well, Tony Adamson, SVP for GDC Technology USA, will lead a presentation on Wednesday, October 24 in the Americana Ballroom 4 on “Changing the Way You Manage Cinema Operations.”

Cinema Automation CA2.0

The revolutionary CA2.0 from GDC is the first-ever centralized solution to provide comprehensive automated management of content storage and playback, show scheduling, power supply and screening quality – providing exhibitors the best possible solution to save time, effort and cost. CA2.0 has already been deployed and proven at over 300 screens in China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore and US.

GDC CA2.0 incorporates the SCL-2000 Centralized Storage Playback Solution, an integrated centralized storage and playback system designed to streamline content management, and leverages machine intelligence to increase efficiency while dramatically reducing the need for human intervention.

The SCL-2000 is truly a game-changer in that it is the world’s first solution capable of playback of 1,000 movies to as many as 14 screens from a centralized server, greatly increasing programming flexibility and eliminating the need for local storage.

  • The system intelligently manages equipment power supply and assures screening quality automatically.
  • Its sophisticated fail-safe design helps eliminating interruptions by ensuring that every screening continues undisturbed in the highly unlikely event of a central server failure.

SR-1000 Standalone Integrated Media Block™

New 6th generation D-Cinema media server is the only solution currently available that supports series 1, 2 and 3 DLP Cinema® projectors, making it the best possible solution for exhibitors with series 1 projectors that need the server replaced.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Built with embedded power electronics used in medical and military applications
  • Designed and built with cache memory to playback content without hard drive storage
  • Designed for near-zero maintenance and minimal total cost of ownership
  • Allows remote access to the projector SMS with wireless tablets anywhere in the cinema

“Developing new technologies for the cinema industry is unique in that it requires constant communications with exhibitors, distributors and the creative community. CA2.0 and SR-1000 were developed from our 20-year knowledge of digital cinema and constantly working with our industry partners, said Annie Wang, executive vice president, strategic for GDC Technology (USA), LLC. “The launch of our newest products in July is already providing exhibitors with technology ahead of its time designed, solving the issues of operating in today’s and tomorrow’s digital cinema world.”
