CT Magazine Becomes A Carbon Neutral Publication from March 2023

The upcoming pre-CinemaCon 2023 edition of Cinema Technology Magazine will be an industry-first in becoming a carbon neutral publication.
London, UK ( March 23, 2023 ) -

Cinema Technology Community is delighted to announce that the upcoming pre-CinemaCon 2023 edition of Cinema Technology Magazine will be an industry-first in becoming a carbon neutral publication. With sustainability a key theme of the next edition, CTC has taken the opportunity to address the carbon footprint that the magazine generates through printing and distribution and sought to reduce the impact this has on the environment.

CTC has achieved this in three ways:

1) Switching to 100% organic compostable packaging. Magazines will no longer be delivered in plastic poly-wraps.

2) Switching to FSC Mix paper from responsible sources. This is the first stage of a commitment to moving towards 100% recycled paper for future publications.

3) Carbon offsetting through tree planting. CTC is proudly supporting One Tree Planted, a US-based organisation by committing to offset more than 2 tonnes of carbon produced for each published edition.

Founded in 2014, One Tree Planted has planted more than 92 million trees in more than 80 countries, helping to reforest areas, create habitats for biodiversity and help businesses and individuals offset their carbon footprint.

“At CTC we take the responsibility of producing and distributing a print-first publication seriously. Like our global members and the entire cinema industry, we’re determined to play our part in reducing our carbon footprint and we’re delighted to take these vital steps in creating the industry’s first carbon-neutral publication. It is part of our commitment to ensuring that the magazine continues to serve the industry without damaging the fragile climate. We’re delighted that through One Tree Planted (www.onetreeplanted.org), we’re able to offset the carbon created from the magazine and help this incredible charity to continue their work of protecting wildlife, habitats and threatened communities, global reforestation and building climate resilience,” explains Richard Mitchell, President of CTC.

The Spring 2023 edition of Cinema Technology Magazine will begin distribution from 30th March 2023 and available online at www.cinema-technology.com shortly after.
