Maya Cinemas signs up with Cinionic for the complete premium experience

Sacramento, California ( November 20, 2020 ) -

Cinionic announced today that Maya Cinemas has signed up to Cinionic Giant Screen (CGS) to power its premium large format brand, Maya Premier Experience (MPX). As part of the circuit-wide deal, Cinionic will upgrade all existing MPX auditoriums with its complete premium solution, powered by CGS. The first three MPX powered by CGS locations, Maya Cinemas Fresno, Bakersfield, and North Las Vegas, will be ready to welcome Maya audiences in time for Thanksgiving.

The CGS experience delivers throughout the moviegoer’s journey, the moment they enter the theater, the pre-show and a premium presentation, designed specifically for large format auditoriums like the immersive MPX. With the new MPX powered by CGS guests will enjoy all the benefits of laser, specially CGS remastered content, and stunning visuals. The move ensures Maya’s state-of-the-art PLF brand delivers exceptional quality across all locations for an elevated moviegoer experience.

“We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Cinionic,” said Francisco Schlotterbeck, CEO, Maya Cinemas. “Over the past decade, Maya Cinemas has established its own premium large format brand in our local communities under the brand MPX, the Maya Premiere Experience. We have worked hard to make this an integral part of Maya Cinemas for guests looking for the biggest screen and best sound. Even though we are facing unprecedented challenges, Maya Cinemas is looking forward, determined to strengthen our brand and cinema experience. Now, we have partnered with Cinionic Giant Screen to bring MPX to an even higher level! Cinionic is a game changer in the PLF space and we couldn’t be happier. Maya and Cinionic are driven to create the ultimate movie-going destination.”

Premium formats are increasingly popular for moviegoers seeking differentiated experiences that cannot be matched by at-home or streaming options. For Maya Cinemas, offering high-end, family entertainment in underserved neighborhoods is at the core of its mission. By bringing the power of CGS to its state-of-the-art MPX brand, Maya is well positioned for the future and providing exceptional moviegoer experiences in its communities for years to come.

“With Maya and Cinionic Giant Screen, we are delivering a complete premium cinematic experience for audiences, from the moment they arrive to after the credits roll,” added Wim Buyens, CEO, Cinionic. “The long-term relationship shows our joint commitment to the future of exhibition – offering complete solutions for a truly differentiated way to go to the movies.”

CGS is a fully comprehensive solution designed around the exhibitor, covering everything cinemas need to deliver a premium experience. The turnkey solution includes an exhibitor-friendly business model, laser projection, screen, marketing support, technical services and monitoring, and auditorium design consulting. The new MPX locations join more than 350 CGS premium screens around the world.

The CGS solution comes with content specially remastered for high brightness on giant screens. The next CGS remastered film is DreamWorks Animation’s “The Croods: A New Age” from Universal Pictures, opening in U.S. theaters Thanksgiving 2020.
