While Nick’s journey is a testimony to what is possible, the film does not shy away from the darkness he walked through to get there. Relentlessly bullied and isolated as a child, Nick struggled with depression so profound that at age 10, he attempted to take his own life.

I saw in my mind my mom, my dad, my brother and my sister crying at my grave, and that one thought saved me. That realization changed everything.”

A pivotal friendship in high school helped redirect Nick’s path. At just 17, someone recognized his rare ability to connect with and inspire others and encouraged him to use that gift to uplift people around the globe.
