IMAX and Spanish exhibitor Cines Palafox have announced an agreement to open a new IMAX with Laser location in Zaragoza, expanding IMAX’s footprint in Spain.

Located on Paseo de la Independencia, in the heart of the city, the venue will become the first IMAX theatre located in a downtown area in Spain. Operated by Cines Palafox, the theater will also be the only IMAX location in the country run by an independent national exhibitor, marking a notable addition to the IMAX network in Europe. The auditorium will feature IMAX with Laser, the company’s next-generation projection system, designed to deliver enhanced brightness, contrast, and immersive sound. The theater is expected to open this Summer.

The new IMAX auditorium will complement Cines Palafox’s existing premium offerings, including special-format screenings and regular 70mm presentations, further positioning the venue as a key destination for film audiences in Spain. Further details about the theater and its opening lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.
