Web of Shadows: Alamo Drafthouse Spotlights the Films Behind “Spider-Noir” Culminating in an Exclusive Fan Event

Alamo Drafthouse invites audiences into the shadows with Web of Shadows: Films That Inspired “Spider-Noir”

A new series dives into the cinematic DNA of the upcoming “Spider-noir” series with four essential noir classics

AUSTIN, TEXAS ( April 10, 2026 ) -

This spring, Alamo Drafthouse invites audiences into the shadows with Web of Shadows: Films That Inspired “Spider-Noir”, a limited series celebrating the hardboiled films that shaped the world of “Spider-Noir”, the upcoming Prime Video series starring Nicolas Cage. “Spider-Noir” is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video.

Running weekly from April 27 through May 18, the Web of Shadows series showcases four defining works of classic film noir, each pulsing with unending darkness, femme fatales, and moral ambiguity.

The Lineup

  • 4/27 – “In a Lonely Place” (1950)
  • 5/4 – “Sweet Smell of Success” (1957)
  • 5/11 – “The Third Man” (1949)
  • 5/18 – “Kiss Me Deadly” (1955)
  • Each film offers a glimpse into the stylistic and thematic lineage behind “Spider-Noir”, where heroes are flawed, the city is unforgiving, and every choice comes with a cost.

“Spider-Noir” is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic “Spider-Man Noir”. “Spider-Noir” tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero. “Spider-Noir” premieres on May 25 on MGM+’s linear channel and May 27 on Prime Video.

The Web of Shadows series goes beyond the screen as well. Guests can expect a themed menu inspired by 1930s diner fare and the stark contrasts of black-and-white cinema. Offerings include items like Popcorn Noir, the City Dog, and cocktails such as the Black Manhattan and Dark & Stormy, a lineup as moody and indulgent as the films themselves.

To cap off the Web of Shadows series, select Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide will host an exclusive “Spider-Noir” fan event on May 25 featuring screenings of the first two episodes of the highly anticipated series. Additional surprises are lurking in the shadows and remain under wraps for now.

Web of Shadows: Films That Inspired “Spider-Noir” plays at select Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide beginning April 27. Tickets to the screenings are available now at drafthouse.com.

Full details and tickets on-sale date for the exclusive “Spider-Noir” fan event are coming soon.

Fans are encouraged to step into the darkness and see what’s been waiting there all along.
