Soprano Juliana Grigoryan and Tenor Freddie De Tommaso make their Met role debuts as Mimì and Rodolfo

The Metropolitan Opera’s 2025–26 “Live in HD” season continues with Franco Zeffirelli’s spectacular production of Puccini’s “La Bohème” on Saturday, November 8, at 1PM ET, with soprano Juliana Grigoryan making her company role debut as Mimì and tenor Freddie De Tommaso in his company role debut as Rodolfo. During the 2024–25 “Live in HD” season, De Tommaso made his Met debut as Cavaradossi in Puccini’s “Tosca” (2024). Grigoryan’s turn as Mimì marks her “Live in HD” debut. Keri-Lynn Wilson conducts in her first Live in HD appearance.

Joining the distinguished cast are soprano Heidi Stober and baritone Lucas Meachem, who sing the roles of Musetta and Marcello, respectively. Baritone Sean Michael Plumb takes on Schaunard, bass Jongmin Park sings the role of Colline, and baritone Donald Maxwell portrays Benoit and Alcindoro.

Fathom Entertainment will also present two encores of “La Bohème” in theatres on Wednesday, November 12, at 1:00PM and 6:30PM local time.

The November 8 performance of “La Bohème” will mark the opera’s 1,415th performance at the Met and its fourth “Live in HD” transmission to theatres nationwide. “La Bohème” is the most performed opera at the Met. The classic production by Franco Zeffirelli premiered on December 14, 1981.

Gary Halvorson will direct the “Live in HD” presentation for theatres, and tenor Matthew Polenzani will host the transmission, sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes content and interviews during the two intermissions.

The 2025–26 “Live in HD” season continues with Strauss’s “Arabella” (live on November 22 with encores on December 3), Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” (encore on December 6), Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier” (live on December 13 with encores on December 17), Bellini’s “I Puritani” (live on January 10 with encores on January 14), Massenet’s “Cinderella” (encores on February 14 and 18), Wagner’s “Tristan und Isold”e (live on March 21 with encores on March 25), Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” (live on May 2 with encores on May 6), and Gabriela Lena Frank’s “El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego” (live on May 30 with encores on June 3).
