“Borderlands” (PG-13) – Based on the best-selling videogame, this all-star action-adventure follows a ragtag team of misfits on a mission to save a missing girl who holds the key to unimaginable power. Directed by Eli Roth and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, “Borderlands” debuts in theatres on Aug. 9.
“The Crow” (R) – When soulmates Eric and Shelly are brutally murdered, Eric is given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself and sets out to seek revenge, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right. The 2024 reimagining of “The Crow”, starring Bill Skarsgard and FKA twigs, premieres in theatres on Aug. 23.
“1992” (R) – A shopkeeper must save his son from an angry mob during the 1992 L.A. uprising after the Rodney King verdict. Starring Scott Eastwood and Tyrese Gibson, “1992” is one of Ray Liotta’s final films and opens Aug. 30.
“The Killer’s Game” – A veteran assassin is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself. Insanity ensues when an army of former colleagues pounce and a new piece of information comes to light. Starring David Bautista, “The Killer’s Game” is not yet rated and debuts Sept. 13.
“Never Let Go” – Halle Berry stars as a mother tormented by an evil spirit. After one of her children questions if evil is real the family must fight for survival. “Never Let Go” is not yet rated and will be released in theatres on Sept. 27.
“Megalopolis” (R) – An architect wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia following a devastating disaster. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Adam Driver, “Megalopolis” opens Sept. 27 in theatres.
“White Bird: A Wonder Story” – A young Jewish girl hidden by a family in a Nazi-occupied French village during World War II becomes best friends with a boy she and her classmates once shunned. In theatres on Oct. 4, “White Bird” is both a sequel and prequel to 2017’s Wonder. It is not yet rated and stars Gillian Anderson and Helen Mirren.
“Flight Risk” – A pilot transports an Air Marshal accompanying a fugitive to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem. In theatres Oct. 18, “Flight Risk” stars Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery, and Topher Grace and is not yet rated.
“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” – Starring Judy Greer and Lauren Graham, nobody is ready for the mayhem and surprises that ensue when six of the worst youngsters disrupt the town’s yearly Christmas performance. “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” comes to theatres on Nov. 8 and is not yet rated.
