Opening this Friday, “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” and Dwayne Johnson’s “Skyscraper” are ruling Fandango’s weekend ticket sales and Fanticipation movie buzz index, garnering 89 and 84 points out of 100 Fanticipation points, respectively.
“Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” is outpacing “Hotel Transylvania 2” in Fandango’s advance ticket sales, while Dwayne Johnson’s “Skyscraper” is outpacing Johnson’s previous action-adventure vehicle, “Rampage,” at the same point in the Fandango sales cycle.
According to a Fandango survey of nearly 1,000 moviegoers planning to see “Skyscraper”:
- 96% identify themselves as Dwayne Johnson fans.
- 95% are looking forward to the film’s blend of light-hearted action, adventure and drama.
- 91% are fans of thrillers with international settings.
“As summer heats up, animated family films are sizzling at the box office,” says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “‘Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation’ is scaring up the family crowd and will add to an already robust season, while Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Skyscraper’ brings plenty of thrills and chills for action buffs.’”

Fanticipation is not intended as a forecast of the weekend box office; it is a snapshot of movie fan sentiment.
