There are a significant number of movie exhibitors who invested in Series 1 projectors which are still running today. However, the original media players are reaching the end of their useful lives and not all exhibitors are ready or willing to purchase new projectors.
To address this together with the lack of replacement options / feature enhancements on media players for Series 1 projectors, the DigiCine media player range includes a media player backward compatible with Series 1 projectors.
