DCDC & CineCert
Los Angeles ( February 16, 2026 ) -

Digital Cinema Distribution Coalition (DCDC) today announced that it has acquired the remaining ownership interest in CineCert, taking full control of the company following its strategic investment last year. The transaction further strengthens DCDC’s commitment to supporting essential digital cinema technologies that underpin secure and reliable content distribution.

CineCert, along with its Clipster mastering solution, has long been recognized as the gold standard for KDM management and digital
cinema mastering, serving leading studios and post-production facilities across the globe. Since DCDC’s initial investment in 2025, the companies have worked closely to ensure continued innovation, operational stability, and long-term support for these critical technologies.

By bringing CineCert fully into the DCDC organization, the coalition reinforces its mission as an industry-owned utility dedicated to the health, security, and advancement of the digital cinema ecosystem. The acquisition ensures that CineCert and Clipster will continue to evolve in step with the needs of studios, distributors, and exhibitors.

“CineCert is foundational to the global digital cinema workflow,” said Howard Kiedaisch, CEO of DCDC. “After a year of close partnership, bringing the company fully into DCDC allows us to provide long-term stability and strategic support for technology the industry depends on every day.”

Nick Mitchell, CTO of DCDC, added, “From security architecture to mastering reliability, CineCert’s technology sits at the core of trusted digital cinema operations. We look forward to working with the CineCert team as they look to streamline workflows, strengthen system resilience, and ensure these platforms continue to meet the evolving needs of content owners.”

“Our collaboration with DCDC has already strengthened our ability to serve the industry,” said Jon Gans, CEO of CineCert. “Becoming fully part of DCDC ensures we can continue innovating while maintaining the independence and technical excellence our customers rely on.”

John Hurst, CTO of CineCert, added, “The support of DCDC will help ensure our engineering team continues to develop a strong long-
term roadmap, security enhancements, and next-generation mastering capabilities. Together, we can move faster while preserving the reliability and precision that are hallmarks of CineCert and Clipster.”
