Arts Alliance Media (AAM), the global leader in digital cinema software and support services, has announced that the Sundance Film Festival, the premier event for independent cinema and one of the world’s foremost Film events, will use their Screenwriter Theatre Management System to control all event content and screens.
The 2025 Sundance Film Festival will debut 93 feature-length and episodic works and 57 short films and is widely recognised as one of the world’s most prestigious events.
After utilising Screenwriter’s capabilities between 2017 and 2020, the Sundance Institute will once again harness AAM’s flagship TMS at six screening locations across Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, ensuring streamlined operations and a birds-eye view of all content and devices.
“We are delighted to reprise our partnership with Arts Alliance Media whose Screenwriter TMS is perfectly adaptable to our specific Festival operations”, explained Holden Payne, Technical Director of Exhibition and Production at Sundance Institute. “By connecting all of our theatres to a LMS, we can efficiently distribute content within each venue to save time and reduce staffing costs.”
Responsible for scheduling features, trailers, and advertisements, monitoring screens, and controlling playback for over 45,000 screens worldwide, AAM’s Screenwriter remains the most powerful, widely deployed TMS in the world. With extensive experience in supporting global Film Festivals, AAM’s Screenwriter will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both organisers and attendees, making it an ideal solution for high-profile events.
Potential content, connectivity, or KDM issues will be proactively flagged, allowing staff to address them promptly and ensure screenings stay on schedule. This capability will enable the Sundance Film Festival to seamlessly manage last-minute schedule adjustments, content updates, or VIP screenings, maintaining a consistently exceptional experience for all audiences.
Peter Kim, Global Sales Director at Arts Alliance Media, added, “We are thrilled that the Sundance Institute has selected AAM as their trusted software partner once again. Screenwriter is proven to manage Festival operations with ease and will help to serve up another successful year.”
