Studio Ghibli Fest 2025 Continues With “Ponyo”

Oscar-winner Hayao Miyazaki’s magical sea adventure returns to the big screen nationwide with Fathom Entertainment for 5 nights only

Tickets are on sale now for “Ponyo” – the heartwarming story of friendship between a young boy, Sosuke, who lives on a clifftop overlooking the sea who rescues a stranded goldfish named “Ponyo,” in which he discovers more than he bargained for. “Ponyo” is a curious, energetic young creature who yearns to be human, but even as she causes chaos around the house, her father, a powerful sorcerer, schemes to return “Ponyo” to the sea. Brought to you by Academy Award winning director Hayao Miyazaki, the colorful, charming tale returns to theatres this August for five nationwide screenings. GKIDS and Fathom Entertainment are delighted to continue Studio Ghibli Fest with the 2025 edition which celebrates “The Secret World of Arrietty’s” 15th anniversary.

Audiences can look forward to Studio Ghibli Fest 2025’s eight-title lineup of films, including “The Boy and the Heron,” re-entering theatres for the first time since its release. “Ponyo” will be shown in both original Japanese and English dubbed versions.

In addition to the full feature, screenings will include a post-film clip from bonus featurette, “Ponyo & Fujimoto” with Director Hayao Miyazaki.
