Tickets are on sale now for “Howl’s Moving Castle” – the story of Sophie, a quiet girl working in a hat shop, finds her life thrown into turmoil when she is literally swept off her feet by a handsome but mysterious wizard named Howl. The vain and vengeful Witch of the Waste, jealous of their friendship, puts a curse on Sophie and turns her into a 90-year-old woman. On a quest to break the spell, Sophie climbs aboard Howl’s magnificent moving castle and into a new life of wonder and adventure. Brought to you by Academy Award winning director Hayao Miyazaki, the fantastical, fan-favorite title returns to theatres this August for five nationwide screenings. GKIDS and Fathom Entertainment are delighted to continue Studio Ghibli Fest with the 2025 edition which celebrates “The Secret World of Arrietty’s” 15th anniversary.
Audiences can look forward to Studio Ghibli Fest 2025’s eight-title lineup of films, including “The Boy and the Heron,” re-entering theatres for the first time since its release. “Howl’s Moving Castle” will be shown in both original Japanese and English dubbed versions.
In addition to the full feature, screenings will include a post-film clip from bonus featurette, “Explanation of CG” with Studio Ghibli staff.
