Step Investment Acquires Cinetec to Expand Admit One in Southern Europe

Cinetec joins the Admit One group, expanding delivery and support across Spain, Portugal and Malta and accelerating A1 data services rollout

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM & BARCELONA, SPAIN ( April 29, 2026 ) -

Step Investment, parent company of Collaborative Software Ltd, has acquired Cinetec, a long-standing partner supporting cinema operators across Spain, Portugal and Malta. The acquisition expands Admit One’s Southern European presence and strengthens local delivery and customer support.

The deal formalises more than 20 years of collaboration and brings Cinetec’s regional expertise into a single, more integrated organisation—supporting faster product development, stronger service and a unified approach for cinema operators across Europe.

Cinetec has served as Admit One’s authorised reseller in Spain, Portugal and Malta, leading local sales, implementations and support in close collaboration with Admit One’s product and development teams.

Cinetec’s local market knowledge and delivery capabilies will now be more closely with Admit One’s wider teams, improving coordination across territories and strengthening support for cinema businesses of all sizes.

“This acquisition increases our scale and focus in Europe,” said Peter Morton, CEO of Admit One. “With a larger, more connected team, we can move faster, build smarter products and support cinema operators with greater depth and resilience.”

Customers should expect continuity with added access to Admit One’s development, infrastructure and long-term product roadmap.

“We’ve always focused on practical solutions that help cinemas run better,” said Richard Haritver, CEO of Cinetec. “Joining the Admit One group lets us scale what we’ve built and gives customers confidence in the team and investment behind the roadmap.”

The acquisition also supports the expansion of A1 Data Services—Cinetec’s data, analytics and CRM platform—making it available more broadly and feeding its capabilities into a unified group product roadmap.

“A1 Data Services came directly from real customer need,” said Paul Veal, COO of Admit One. “Bringing Cinetec into the group helps us scale that capability and strengthen our analytics and CRM strategy.”

Cinetec will maintain a strong local presence, with branding and group alignment evolving over time. Together, the group brings one of Europe’s most experienced cinema software teams.

“Admit One and Cinetec share deep expertise and long-term customer relationships,” said Mike Ormonde, Principal Investor at Step Investment. “Together, they create a platform with the scale and ambition to compete across Europe and continue investing in product innovation and customer-led development.”
