Dolby today announced that the opening weekend of Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is the highest-grossing domestic box office weekend in Dolby Cinema history.

Milestones:

• Highest grossing weekend ever for Dolby Cinema domestically ($10M+).
• Highest ever per screen average in Dolby Cinema history ($56K+).
• Highest weekend of pre-sales ever for Dolby Cinema with nearly two-thirds of available tickets sold for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s” opening weekend before Thursday previews began.

Dolby Cinema generated a total domestic box office of $10M+ between Thursday and Sunday across its 177 locations in the United States. Dolby Cinema’s per screen average for the weekend was its highest ever at $56K with nearly two-thirds of available tickets for the weekend sold before Thursday previews.

Leading all Dolby Cinema locations, AMC Burbank 16 is the highest-grossing Dolby Cinema location in the country to debut Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Contributing to its success, the location is the first multiplex in the U.S. to offer dual Dolby Cinema auditoriums.

This weekend’s achievement follows a record year for Dolby Cinema, which topped $203M in domestic box office in 2025.
