Just under 48 hours since the opening pre-sales for the highly anticipated “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, TGV Cinemas has recorded spectacular pre-sales records – the highest ever of the post-MCO era.
The massive hype for Tom Holland’s third solo outing has led to a huge surge of ticket buyers flooding into TGV’s web and mobile app, causing servers to slow down to a crawl. This has sparked fans outrage on our social pages and had desperate fans frantically refreshing their browser pages and app in hopes to purchase tickets.
With the impressive pre-sales records, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has definitely become the highest-grossing release of the pandemic era and is almost on par with Avengers: Endgame on a global scale. This is no small feat considering the fourth Avengers flick was the highest-grossing film in history for a time.
Mohit Bhargava, TGV General Manager Sales & Marketing said “Sales in just 48 hours have already doubled the lifetime pre-sales of any other blockbusters records post-MCO. This is definitely a record-breaking feat, considering the fact that we are operating with limited seating capacities and sessions due to prolonged cleaning and sanitisation in-halls.”
“We are impressed to see these amazing pre-sales results and are very happy that this movie is getting much love from everyone in Malaysia and globally!” a spokesperson from Sony Pictures Entertainment (Malaysia) said when asked in regards to the record-breaking pre-sales of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” locally.
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” releases in cinemas on 16 December 2021 with sneaks on 15th.
