Sohonet has been awarded an Engineering Excellence Award Honorable Mention by the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) for their real-time, remote review tool, ClearView Flex. The HPA Awards spotlight companies’ services to the professional media content industry for their outstanding technical and creative ingenuity in media, content production, finishing, distribution and archive.
ClearView Flex provides media teams with a tool to stream live, encrypted video/audio content in real-time from any source (edit/ VFX workstation/ camera/ video village) via HDMI or SDI to up to 30 distributed collaborators and/or clients to view on tablet, phone, PC/MAC or via Apple TV.
“Sohonet is hugely grateful to receive this honor from the Hollywood Professional Association,” said Chuck Parker, CEO for Sohonet. “ClearView Flex is a service we developed in order to solve a difficult problem brought to us by our customers: How to collaborate securely and effectively on video content in real-time when the entire team cannot be in the same room — whether that’s due to time, travel and budget constraints or unforeseen events such as COVID 19. We look forward to continuing in our efforts to revolutionize the way storytellers create content by making collaboration seamless and more secure.”
Dedicated to enhancing and improving the user experience, ClearView Flex has a slate of features being deployed to increase color bit depth, color chroma, color space, and audio channels, with Sohonet’s vision being to enhance and improve the remote collaboration experience for all media professionals. Sohonet’s recent partnership with Moxion, winner of the HPA’s 2020 Engineering Excellence Awards, broadens the range of remote collaboration solutions Sohonet can now offer the production, post and visual effects communities.
The HPA Awards, now in its 15th year, will take place as a virtual gala on November 19, when Engineering Excellence Honors will be bestowed.
