Reading Cinemas Australia, an affiliate of Reading International, Inc. (“Reading”), announced today the outstanding success of its third annual Reading Cinemas National Cinema Day, held on Sunday, August 31 across all Australian and New Zealand Locations.
Across both countries, cinema fans turned out in record numbers, with both markets achieving their highest single-day admissions of the year. The event once again proved to be a much-loved celebration of the big screen, bringing communities together through exceptional value and a fantastic line up of films.

Families can now look forward to an exciting school holiday season with “The Bad Guys 2,” “Kangaroo,” and “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie” all set to hit screens soon. Beyond the holidays, a powerhouse slate of Blockbuster Titles is on the horizon, including “The Smashing Machine,” “Tron: Ares,” “Predator: Badlands,” “The Running Man,” and the much-anticipated “Wicked: For Good.”
And to round out the year, audiences will be treated to even more cinematic adventures with “Zootopia 2,” “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” and the return of the fan favourite franchise with a brand-new “Anaconda” from Boxing Day.
