MPS Announces Appointment of Matt Aspray as New CEO

London ( September 21, 2017 ) -

On the back of a busy year in which the company has been identified by the London Stock Exchange Group as one of the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain, leading film services provider Motion Picture Solutions is proud to announce the appointment of its new CEO — Matt Aspray.

Matt’s leadership has been integral to the growth of the company over the past 11 years. He takes the reins at the company during an exciting time, with expansion of the core services of digital mastering, KDM management and content localisation and distribution prompting the acquisition of new offices alongside MPS’s West London facility — as well as putting plans in place for a US facility in Los Angeles. Matt takes over from Howard Kiedaisch, who is stepping aside to focus on the growth of Bel Air Cinema, a company he co-founded and in which MPS is a principal partner.

“Thanks to the commitment and support we have received from our clients, MPS has undergone an enormous transformation since I joined the company back in 2006 — and that transformation is continuing. We began as a small player in the UK digital cinema world, and today MPS is a well-known and respected entity serving the wider entertainment industry,” explains Matt, “I’ve been fortunate to have been at the heart of the company from the outset and under Howard’s wise counsel, MPS has now cemented its reputation internationally. I’m delighted he’ll be staying on as a non-executive director. His industry knowledge is unsurpassed, as is his commercial judgement.”

This summer has seen several major developments — including the rollout of the latest iteration of MPS’s market-leading KDM generation tool, KeyGen, and its partner platform, OnCinema — which will allow the company to service better the needs of distributor clients on the worldwide stage, part of the remit for the outgoing CEO when he joined from Arts Alliance Media in 2015.

“When I arrived at MPS two years ago, I did so with huge respect for the two things that set this company apart — its relentless pursuit of technological advantage and focus on the customer’s needs,” says Howard, “Both those aspects have flourished and this company is poised to have a big impact internationally. Though I will be spending more time on the company I co-founded, Bel Air Cinema, I’m delighted to be staying a part of MPS — it’s a company I have admired for years and I have many friends in the MPS family. The next phase of growth certainly promises to be an interesting one for MPS.”
