“Michael,” the highly anticipated biopic of the legendary global superstar Michael Jackson, from Academy Award-winning producer Graham King (“Bohemian Rhapsody,” “The Departed”) and directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day,” “The Equalizer”), will be released in theaters and IMAX around the world beginning on April 24, 2026. Lionsgate will distribute the film domestically, with Kino Films distributing in Japan and Universal distributing in the rest of the world.

Fuqua and King will bring audiences a riveting portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man, from a script by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan. Newcomer Jaafar Jackson steps into the iconic role portraying his late uncle in the film.

“Michael” explores the global superstar’s journey to become known to the world as the King of Pop, presenting an intimate look at the life and enduring legacy of one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known.
