Inside Out 2 dominates it’s opening weekend, delivering over 503,000 admits and a weekend box office result 2.5 times greater than the first film.
Pixar’s highly anticipated sequel, “Inside Out 2,” has exploded onto the global stage, achieving record-breaking success at the box office. The film debuted with a staggering $295 million worldwide, marking the highest global animated opening of all time.
“Inside Out 2’s” domestic performance in Australia was equally impressive, delivering over 503K in its opening weekend, whilst representing strongly amongst families (41% P25-54).
Captivating family audiences with its heartwarming exploration of emotions and the complexities of growing up, the film’s success extends beyond animation, securing the title of the highest opening weekend of 2024, surpassing “Dune: Part Two.” Additionally, “Inside Out 2” stands as the highest opening weekend since “Barbie” in July 2023, solidifying its position as a must-see cinematic event.
Within the Pixar family, “Inside Out 2” takes the third spot for highest opening weekend of all time, falling just behind the powerhouse performances of “Incredibles 2” and “Finding Dory.” When considering all Walt Disney Animation Studios/Pixar releases, “Inside Out 2” nabs the fourth-highest opening weekend ever, joining the ranks of “Frozen 2.”
“Inside Out 2” opens the floodgates to powerhouse Family titles these winter school holidays, with the return of another smash hit in the Minions universe, “Despicable Me 4.”
