Consumers will now have more accessible ways to find out what is on at the movies, as Hoyts launches ‘Skill’ on Amazon Alexa.
HOYTS today announced it has launched its skill for Amazon Alexa. The aim is to bring movie-goers more accessible ways to find out what’s on at the movies and when, in an all-new consumer experience.
The HOYTS Cinema Technology Group (CTG) engineers developed the ability for people to just use their voice to ask about the latest information at their local HOYTS cinema, for example, guests can say, ‘Alexa, ask HOYTS what’s on at Broadway next Tuesday?’ or “Alexa, ask HOYTS when is Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle showing?” in a very natural and conversational way.
Damian Keogh, CEO of the HOYTS Group said, “It’s exciting for HOYTS to continue in our mission to innovate, create and challenge the standard journey and experience of a trip to the movies. It’s all part of our Experience More brand promise,” said Keogh. “The launch of Alexa means we can provide HOYTS based content through voice for the first time for our guests”.
HOYTS’ skill for Amazon Alexa allows guests to connect and find out the latest session times for a desired movie by simply asking, going beyond the website. And the beauty of this means guests can simply ask their query, from across the room using their voice only, as it’s all set up to operate as hands- free. Finding out what to watch at the movies will never be the same again.
To search HOYTS sessions via Amazon Alexa, owners of an Amazon Echo device are invited to simply enable the HOYTS ‘Skill’ on their Amazon Alexa app via their phone, from 1 February 2018.
