Barco, the worldwide market share leader in digital cinema projection, is fully outfitting long-time customer Cinesystem’s Morumbi Town cinema with both Flagship Laser and Laser Phosphor projectors, further elevating the exhibitor’s premium showings while simultaneously spreading cost efficiencies across the entire theater.
Cinesystem Cinemas partnered with Barco nearly four years ago to convert its cinemas to digital projection. Now, recognizing the opportunity to further enhance the quality of its movie showings with laser projection, the exhibitor has decided to equip its entire theater with Barco laser projectors.
In terms of the number of cinema auditoriums in Brazil, Cinesystem Cinemas is one of the largest movie theater companies, and has always aimed to bring innovative technology to the most diverse places in the country. Today with 142 movie theaters throughout Brazil, the company is preparing its biggest project: inaugurate the most modern movie theater in Latin America, in São Paulo.
Bringing the cutting-edge of cinema innovation to Brazil
“We are very excited about this partnership. With Barco Innovation Center’s technologies, which includes laser projection and the Lobby Experience, we can bring to São Paulo, one of the greatest Latin American cities in terms of economic importance, a modern and innovative option of entertainment,” comments Marcos Barros, Founding Partner of Cinesystem. “Expanding operations in a capital as important as São Paulo is a challenge, no doubt, but it is also a natural step when you have a solid expansion process.”
Ivan Cannau, Vice President for Barco Latin America, comments: “Through our innovative technologies, Cinesystem’s audience will be able to enjoy enhanced images, while driving down both capital expenditures and operational costs to help Cinesystem accomplish improved overall business excellence on movie showings, which is unique in Latin America so far.”
Leading the laser revolution
To date, Barco has deployed more Flagship Laser projectors across the globe than any other manufacturer, totaling more than 45 exhibitors, 22 countries and 150 auditoriums. Recent installations include: National Amusements and Santikos Entertainment (United States); Cinepolis (Mexico) Megabox (Korea); GRINN Film (Russia); Kinepolis Group (The Netherlands); CinemaCity (Lebanon); Cineplanet (Peru), and JinYi Cinemas (China) to name a few.
A richer, yet economical solution for PLF movie screenings
The Barco Flagship Laser RGB 6P DP4K-22L projector delivers stunning brightness and rich, vibrant colors to bring movies to life in a whole new way. It reduces operating expenses by: eliminating all lamp-related costs and maintenance; consuming less (up to 40 percent) power than xenon projectors; and minimizing downtime, thanks to seamless integration and worry-free operations. And its reliable laser light source offers a lifetime of 30,000 hours or more.
Gaining cost efficiencies across the entire theater
The Barco DP2K-20CLP laser phosphor projector offers exhibitors a future-proof solution that boosts movie presentation quality, while enabling widespread cost efficiencies across the theater, thanks to the elimination of lamps, reduced energy consumption and simplified operation.
“We are very pleased and honored to support Cinesystems’ desire to deliver premium cinema entertainment to its patrons using our Flagship Laser and Laser Phosphor projectors,” comments Stijn Henderickx.
