The award recognizes the Barco Lobby Experience installed last year for ShowBiz Cinemas at its Baytown Entertainment Center in Texas.
The annual DSE APEX Awards are designed to recognize and honor achievement in the installation of digital displays and interactive technology and the creation of compelling viewer content. The awards have honored hundreds of companies for their innovation throughout the years.
Transforming the cinema entertainment experience
The Barco Lobby Experience at ShowBiz Baytown features Barco’s turnkey solution, which transforms theater lobbies into an entertainment experience that captivates, informs and engages movie patrons while providing opportunities for revenue enhancement. Barco is providing complete content creation and management services as well as all hardware (displays, screens, media servers) and the X2O real-time visual communications platform to drive the theater’s animated box office and concession boards, movie posters, and dynamic trailer presentations, called Lobby Domination.

This year’s APEX Award finalists were chosen by an independent panel of 13 industry experts and journalists from a field of 155 entrants from 11 countries vying in 9 major digital signage categories.
