Nearly every section of the acclaimed cinema-eatery’s menu has new items, including returning favorites, more vegan and vegetarian options, an expanded spirits menu, limited-time Bonus Features, and a themed menu inspired by "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny."
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has unveiled an evolution of their food and beverage offerings so huge, so monumental that it could only be called one thing – The Invasion of the Mega Menu! The cinema-eatery’s menu updates include brand new items, expanded vegetarian/vegan options, a revamped beer and cocktail program with a dedicated spirits page, and multiple limited-time options perfect for the summer movie season.
Guests can expect to see many new items on Alamo Drafthouse’s menu, including original creations and returning favorites. Fans who like a little heat with their movie should definitely check out the new Hellfire Burger, made with hot pepper cheese and reaper pepper mayo. Perhaps most exciting for Alamo Drafthouse regulars is the return of the classic Fried Pickle Spears. A fan favorite for years, the return of this crispy, briny treat has been hotly anticipated. Wings are also making their way back to the menu, this time with three savory sauces to choose from: Buffalo, Really Hot Reaper, and Sweet Gochujang. Alamo Drafthouse is bringing back both items after listening to passionate and frequent requests from followers on social media.
A few previously limited-time offerings have also made their way onto the menu, including the Brussels Sprouts, Bacon & Goat Cheese Pizza and the Alamo Bowl. The latter is an example of Alamo Drafthouse’s continuing efforts to provide an expanded selection of tasty vegan and vegetarian options. With items like Avocado Toast going fully vegan and many more meat-free dishes, vegans and vegetarians will find more to enjoy than ever before.
Along with exceptional food and a superior cinema experience, Alamo Drafthouse has been dedicated to an elevated beer and cocktail selection since day one – it is in the name after all. The tap list has been updated with craft beers from breweries local to each theater, and the cocktail list has received an extensive update with new libations for guests to enjoy. Diners also have more choices for their drinks with a new page dedicated solely to local spirits.
In addition to the changes to the permanent menu, Alamo Drafthouse has also added several new limited-time offerings to the seasonal Bonus Features menu. Featuring craveable new items like Spicy Ranch Popcorn, Golden Wings with a tangy gold sauce, an Avocado Chicken Salad Sandwich, the To Serve & To Fizz Shake with strawberry and pineapple, and two refreshing new drinks – Dream Summer ‘59, a non-alcoholic highball with strawberry, lemon & ginger, and Dream Summer ‘80 which adds Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Both drinks are lightly-inspired by Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” and will be featured on a special themed menu for select “Barbie” event screenings.
Alamo Drafthouse also recently introduced an adventurous new limited-time menu inspired by the new “Indiana Jones” movie called Alamo Drafthouse and the Menu of Destiny. Available at all Alamo Drafthouse screenings through July 26th, it features five new items, including The Henry Dog, The BBQ Pizza of the Pulled Pork, the Whip at a Gun Fight Shake, the non-alcoholic Monkey Brain Punch, and the Gem of Ra cocktail. More info on the Menu of Destiny can be found here.
“Our dining experience has always gone hand-in-hand with our cinema experience,” shared Trish Eichelberger, Director of Food and Beverage at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. “We’re just as excited as our guests to see the original Fried Pickles back on the menu, and we always want to be as inclusive as possible so we’re really proud of our expanded vegan and vegetarian options.”
In order to properly convey the magnitude of the update, Alamo Drafthouse has launched a campaign of colossal proportions. Inspired by classic kaiju films, several of the new items have been immortalized on stylized movie posters. Alamo Drafthouse is even planning a featurette trailer detailing what went on behind the scenes to bring “The Invasion of the Mega Menu” to theaters, with a teaser of the video available to watch now.
