Siddharth Roy Kapur, Founder & Managing Director of Roy Kapur Films, will receive the “Motion Picture Association (MPA) Asia Pacific Copyright Educator of the Year” Award at the CineAsia Awards Ceremony on 7 December 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Siddharth Roy Kapur is one of the most celebrated producers in Indian cinema and the Founder & Managing Director of Roy Kapur Films. He has produced some of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema like “Dangal” and “Chennai Express,” along with pathbreaking films that have broken the mould like “Barfi,” “Kai Po Che: and “Haider.”
His latest production, “Last Film Show” was shortlisted in the Best International Feature Film category at the 95th Oscars, only the fourth Indian film to ever make it to this stage. His recent streaming shows include the crime thriller “Aranyak,” and two seasons of the epic historical drama “Rocket Boys,” which bagged the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Series, receiving tremendous acclaim from audiences and critics. Siddharth is the former Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company India.
His involvement in the film and media industry extends well beyond his production ventures. He serves as a managing trustee of the Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI), which organizes the Mumbai Film Festival, and holds the position of co-chairman of the CII Media & Entertainment Committee. Siddharth was elected President of the Producers Guild of India for an unprecedented 6 consecutive terms, and has been listed on the prestigious Variety 500 list of the most influential people in global entertainment for the last 6 years consecutively. In July 2023, Siddharth was invited to membership of the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) under the Producers branch.
