The Met: Live in HD Presents Verdi’s Macbeth on Saturday, October 17

“The Met: Live in HD” continues its 20th-anniversary season with Verdi’s “Macbeth” on Saturday, October 17, at 1PM ET. Soprano Lise Davidsen stars as Lady Macbeth, alongside baritone Quinn Kelsey in the title role. Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Met’s Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director, conducts, and Louisa Proske makes her company debut as director with the Met’s first new production of the opera in nearly 20 years.

In addition to Davidsen and Kelsey, the cast includes tenor Freddie De Tommaso as Macduff and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as Banquo, both making their respective Met role debuts.

Proske is joined by a veteran creative team that includes set designer Jon Bausor, who most recently designed the Met’s production of Gabriela Lena Frank’s “El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego”; costume designer Montana Levi Blanco, who is concurrently designing costumes for the Met’s world premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s “Lincoln in the Bardo”; and lighting designer Adam Silverman. Choreographer Jorrell Lawyer-Jefferson and action director Ran Arthur Braun also make their Met debuts with “Macbeth”.

Fathom Entertainment will also present two encores of “Macbeth” in theatres on Wednesday, October 21, at 1:00PM and 6:30pm local time.

The Met: Live in HD
The 2026–27 “Live in HD” season continues with Saint-Saëns’s “Samson et Dalila” (December 5, 2026, with encores on October 21), Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West” (January 23, 2027, with encores on January 27), Kevin Puts’s “Silent Night” (March 20, 2027, with encores on March 24), Massenet’s “Manon” (April 3, 2027, with encores on April 7), Verdi’s “Otello” (April 24, 2027, with encores on April 28), and Wagner’s “Parsifal” (June 5, 2027, with encores on June 9). All performances will be Saturday matinees transmitted live from the Met stage. Encores of Bizet’s “Carmen” from 2010 will be presented on November 14, 2026; Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” from 2006 will be presented on December 12, 2026; and Puccini’s “Tosca” from 2024 will be presented on May 8, 2027.
