Showcase Cinema De Lux Bluewater Will Rebrand Its Popular Bar to ‘The King’s Gallery’ Following a Special Visit From ‘Charles’ to Give It the Royal Seal of Approval
The Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla will be shown live on the big screen on Saturday 6th May – thanks to Showcase Cinemas.
And, ahead of the momentous weekend and screening, the UK’s number one cinema, Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater, will go full steam ahead with a right royal rebranding.
The UK’s most popular cinema will rename its newly refurbished VIP Gallery bar to ‘The King’s Gallery’ for the occasion.
‘King Charles’ even attended the Gallery bar to give it a royal seal of approval ahead of the opening on Friday 5th May.
‘Charles’ was seen taking selfies next to a newly unveiled portrait of HRH, painted by Showcase Cinemas’ Vice President of Global Marketing Mark Malinowski, and took time out of his ‘royal’ duties to enjoy a private screening, complete with popcorn and a martini – famously the new King’s favourite drink.
‘The King’ also tested out some of Charles III’s other favourite royal cocktails, which are all part of a special cocktail menu due to be served at the bar during the Coronation weekend and throughout May.
Alongside His Majesty’s favourite Martini, cinema guests will be able to celebrate at the renamed bar with a Queen’s Dubonnet, a Monarch Mojito, Corgi Cosmo, Sandringham Spritz or a Buckingham Bramble.
No trip to the cinema is complete without popcorn, of course. And, for the Coronation celebrations Showcase has gone the extra mile and given its popcorn a royal makeover too – with British favourite flavours such as Eton Mess and Salted Caramel on offer for popcorn fans to enjoy.
The VIP Gallery service offers guests – both royal and not – an experience fit for a king (and queen) with luxury fully customisable heated recliner chairs with extra legroom, and access to the fully refurbished and rebranded ‘The King’s Gallery’ bar and lounge before and after their film.
Jon Dixon, UK Marketing Director at Showcase Cinemas said: “With the Coronation being a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for most, we wanted to make sure that guests could watch it in real style, on the big screen.
“We’re delighted to announce we’ll be screening the Coronation free of charge on Saturday 6th May at Bluewater, meaning cinemagoers can enjoy this momentous occasion in ultimate comfort. We also wanted to go that one step further and celebrate this special day by renaming our VIP bar at Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater – The King’s Gallery throughout May. ‘King Charles’ seemed extremely impressed with the refurbishment, as well as his portrait which guests with Gallery tickets will be able to see for themselves from 5th May.
“We can’t wait to welcome cinemagoers and royal fans to the UK’s number one cinema over the bank holiday weekend to enjoy a royal themed tipple or two!”
Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater recently underwent an extensive ‘royal treatment’ refurbishment, with every seat throughout the cinema’s 17 auditoriums now being a fully customisable recliner, giving film fans the chance to experience blockbusters in ultimate comfort within every screen.
Alongside the seats and addition of the VIP Gallery bar, the site also now boasts two supersized, giant XPlus screens, featuring crystal clear laser projection, as well as fully immersive Dolby Atmos sound.
