Star Cinema Grill Expands Theatre Management System and Selects Centralized Management System to Streamline the Dine-In Cinema Chains Workflow and Help Reduce Cost
GDC Technology Limited (‘GDC’), a leading global provider of digital cinema solutions, announced today that Star Cinema Grill is expanding the installation of the GDC TMS Theatre Management System (TMS-2000) to all 11 sites. The popular dine-in cinema circuit chose TMS-2000 for the entire circuit after successfully testing at three locations. In addition, Star Cinema Grill will deploy GDC’s CMS Central Management Enterprise Software (CMS-3000) to streamline booth operations. The “Enterprise Package” will ensure a fully automated workflow while reducing costs associated with booth operations. The deployment of TMS-2000 will be managed internally with assistance from Strong Technical Services. The CMS-3000 Web-based Central Management Enterprise Software will be deployed at Star Cinema Grill’s corporate office after the completion of the TMS-2000 installations.
“Star Cinema Grill is committed to constantly upgrading to the latest technologies to provide our guests with an amazing experience,” said Jason Ostrow, vice president of development for Star Cinema Grill. “We rely on our vendor partners, such as GDC to provide innovative technologies to deliver differentiated entertainment experiences in the communities we serve. GDC’s software was selected for its user-friendly user interface and US-based support team’s reputation for providing outstanding technical and customer services, along with the ease of operation and labor-savings.”
The Houston-based Star Cinema Grill was founded in 2007 by Omar Khan, founder and CEO with the vision of reinventing and enhancing the moviegoing experience by creating a differentiated experience encompassing full-service gourmet dining. The company operates 13 locations with 112 screens and is best known for appealing to moviegoers with the latest technologies, including installing Samsung’s Onyx LED cinema screen at its Richmond, Texas location.
“Movie theatres have long adapted to new technologies, but the pace of change accelerated with the introduction of digital cinema. Our enterprise software was developed from our over 20-year knowledge of digital cinema and constant working with our industry partners, such as Star Cinema Grill”, said Paul Marcot, vice president of sales for North America at GDC Technology USA LLC. “The deployment of our software will provide Star Cinema Grill with technology ahead of its time, solving operational issues with automation designed for today and tomorrow’s cinema operations.”
