Featuring native 2K resolution and 50,000 hours of life, Sharp/NEC’s NC2403ML adds to its line of next generation of module projectors
Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe will again be supporting the San Sebastián International Film Festival (SSIFF), taking place from 22 to 30 September 2023. As in previous years, Sharp/NEC is collaborating with Kelonik, a leading integrator specialising in cinema projectors and sound systems for cinemas. With help of laser projectors provided by Sharp/NEC, both partners will deliver a unique cinematic experience to visitors of the film festival.
In its 71-year history, the SSIFF has achieved global renown and today is recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations (FIAPF) as a ‘top category competitive film festival’. Two of the Festival’s most famous events – the film music concert given by the Basque National Orchestra and the broadcast of the closing gala – as well as a popular section of this year’s major releases will be taking place in the Velodrome theatre.
“We are building on the success of previous years and are very much looking forward to the 2023 Festival. The Velodrome continues to be one of our most important sections and will also be a highlight attraction of the 71st edition of SSIFF”, said José Luis Rebordinos, Director of the SSIFF.
In the Velodrom, NEC NC3541L RB laser projectors are used to illuminate a 400 square meter screen for an audience of 3,000 people. The NEC NC3541L RB laser projectors are the first RB laser projectors for premium and large screens up to 32 meters, offering full 4K resolution and a wide colour space. Combined with a homogeneous and high-contrast laser image quality, the models provide an incomparable cinematic experience with 35,000 lumens of brightness, making them suitable for 2D and 3D image reproduction. Compared to xenon lamp-based models, RB laser projectors offer the highest possible reliability with maintenance-free operation, low power consumption and up to 50,000 hours of lifetime. These features result in a significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for cinema operators.
“We are delighted to once again support the San Sebastián International Film Festival, a paramount event in the cinema industry. Given the exceptional image quality they offer, our laser projectors stand as the perfect solution to captivate the festivals spectators”, states Alain Chamaillard, Head of Cinema EMEA & CIS at Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe.
