Santa Fe International Film Festival Reveals Full Festival Lineup

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO ( September 30, 2024 ) -

The Santa Fe International Film Festival has unveiled its complete lineup for this year’s event, which will run from October 16-20. Among the highlights is the acclaimed film “Blitz,” directed by Academy Award winner Steve McQueen, which will serve as the festival’s Centerpiece Gala and stars Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan. The festival will also host the World Premieres “The Reunion” directed by Roland Ellis and the documentary “Georgia O’Keeffe: The Brightness of Light,” directed by Academy Award winner Paul Wagner and narrated by Hugh Dancy.

Throughout the five days, audiences can enjoy 184 films including 42 narrative features, 24 documentaries, and 118 short films. As part of its Special Presentation section, the festival will showcase several high-profile titles, including Michael Gracey’s “Better Man,” a documentary on pop icon Robbie Williams; Academy Award winner’s Andrea Arnold’s “Bird,” starring Academy Award nominee Barry Keoghan; Phil Blattenberger’s “Laws of Man” featuring Academy Award winner Keith Carradine alongside Academy Award nominees Harvey Keitel and Graham Greene; Academy Award nominee RaMell Ross’ “Nickel Boys,” adapted from Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel; Marielle Heller’s “Nightbitch,” starring six-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams; Jesse Eisenberg’s “A Real Pain,” featuring himself and Kieran Culkin; Academy Award winner Pedro Almodóvar’s “The Next Room,” with Academy Award winners Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton; Tim Fehlbaum’s “September 5,” starring John Magaro and Peter Sarsgaard; and Academy Award nominee William Goldenberg’s “Unstoppable,” with Jennifer Lopez, Academy Award nominee Don Cheadle, and Michael Peña.

“We are incredibly excited about this year’s lineup, which brings together a diverse range of voices and stories from around the world,” said Jacques Paisner, Artistic Director. “From highly anticipated premieres to compelling documentaries and groundbreaking features, our goal is to create a program that sparks conversation, inspires creativity, and celebrates the power of storytelling.”

The festival will also present the U.S. premieres of “Mash Ville” directed by Hwang Wook, “Sunlight” directed Nina Conti, “Tasmania” directed by Austin Alward and “Waltzing Matilda” directed by Petr Slavík.

The Narrative Features Jury will be composed of Carlos Aguilar, Kathleen Broyles, Cassidy Freeman, Alexandra Fredricks, Tim Hunter, Jhane Myers, Yolanda Ross, Danny Rubin, and Maura Dhu Studi. The Documentary Features Jury includes Ricardo Acosta, Sandrine Cassidy, Gay Dillingham, Kirby Dick, Andrea Meditch, Sam Pollard, Glenn Silber, and Ivey Camille Manybeads Tso. The New Mexico Features Jury consists of Hunter Robert Baker, Alexandra Henry, Ryan Lacen, Paul Lazarus, and Shaandiin Tome. The New Mexico Short Films Jury is composed of Kymon Greyhorse, Amanda Lundquist, Erica Nguyen, and Scott Rorie.

Previously, the festival announced it would open with Malcolm Washington’s “The Piano Lesson” and close with Amber Sealey’s “Out of My Mind” and that Bryan Cranston will be honored with its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
