Reel Cinema is excited to announce that they will be re-opening all of their cinemas on May 17th, when they will also be debuting their new Blackburn location – the first new UK cinema to open post Covid! The openings will mark the return of the big screen experience, following months of Covid restrictions.
Reel Cinema Blackburn will be the 15th site for the company, which normally welcome over 1.5 million guests per year across the country. From May 17th, Reel Cinema Blackburn will be open to over 600 visitors across their 7 screens. Audiences will be able to enjoy cutting edge Dolby 7.1 surround, sound paired with Barco 2K projectors, for that perfect cinema audiovisual experience.
Reel Cinema Blackburn boasts 5 Premiere Lounge screens featuring large leather seats, as well as 2 Reel Lounges, where guests will be treated to comfy plush sofa seats and extra legroom. Like the other Reel Cinema locations, the cinema’s opening week will include showings of Best Picture Oscar winner “Nomadland”, action hit “Godzilla Vs Kong”, and the suspenseful “Spiral: From The Book Of Saw”. Family favourites will also be returning to the big screen with “Peter Rabbit 2:The Runaway”, “Maya The Bee: The Golden Orb”, and “Tom & Jerry”. Joining them later in me will be Disney’s eagerly awaited “Cruella”.
KC Suri, Head of Reel Cinemas, shared, “It is with great pleasure that we can bring Reel Cinemas to the people of Blackburn. We have done everything we can to build a cinema that we are genuinely proud of, and it’s been our privilege to bring films to local communities over the years. Our customers and teams are the reason we’ve been able to fulfil our passion to do just that across the UK. Right now, everyone’s wellbeing is at the heart of what we do, to ensure a safer cinema experience for all. So, we are calling upon the local community to support your local cinema – do come and enjoy the great films we have to offer.”
Phil Clapp, Chief Executive of the UK Cinema Association, is also excited to see the opening of Reel Cinema Blackburn commenting “The opening of the fantastic new Reel Blackburn cinema reflects a clear sense that after more than a year of lockdowns, UK audiences can’t wait to get back to the uniquely immersive experience that only the big screen can offer. We have no doubt that this new venue, which will offer big sight and sound and first-class customer service at an affordable price, will rapidly become a much-loved and valued part of the local community.”
