Industry Vet To Lead Pixelogic’s Global R&D Group
Pixelogic, the innovative and fully integrated provider of localization and distribution services, has hired Craig Seidel as its new chief technology officer (CTO). He will report directly to Pixelogic Co-Presidents John Suh and Rob Seidel. Craig will lead the company’s global R&D group — including technology research, strategy and development.
“Craig is a highly respected technology executive and proven thought leader within the M&E industry,” says Suh. “We are delighted to have him join our senior management team as we enter our next phase of growth. Craig’s leadership skills and technology experience are a perfect match for where Pixelogic is going as a company and we couldn’t be happier about this appointment.”
Craig spent the last 14 years at MovieLabs, the M&E research and consulting partner to the major Hollywood studios. Throughout this time, he led the ideation and development of a range of next generation technologies and standards including the MovieLabs Digital Distribution Framework (MDDF), Common Metadata, Cross-Platform Extras, Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR), and a range of others. Prior to MovieLabs, Craig held technology and engineering positions at Macrovision, TiVo and Liberate Technologies.
“Pixelogic has emerged as an industry leader and their business vision, plans for the future, and overall commitment to technology is very impressive,” says Craig Seidel. “Their R&D team is top notch and loaded with development talent and domain expertise. I’m honored and excited to have the opportunity to work with them.”
“Our team is thrilled about the addition of Craig,” says Rob Seidel. “He’s a known quantity to our customers and employees, as many of them have worked together in the past. In fact, many of our systems, tools and workflows have been designed around standards and specifications that were either created or heavily influenced by Craig. His joining Pixelogic as our CTO is a natural fit in so many ways.”
Pixelogic was founded in 2016 as a next-gen media supply chain provider focused on premium localization and distribution services for features and series, including marketing materials such as trailers and TV spots. The company localizes content in over 60 languages and services all worldwide distribution venues and delivery formats. This includes support for digital cinema, physical media (DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray) and hundreds of digital media variants. Pixelogic employs nearly 700 full-time employees worldwide.
