Odeon, Europe’s largest cinema group, has made 20 of their multiplex cinemas available on ourscreen.com, enabling their guests to organise crowd-sourced, on-demand screenings across the UK.
OurScreen’s catalogue of 500+ films is now available to watch on-demand at 20 Odeon cinemas, including Brighton, Central London, Liverpool, Manchester, and, of particular note, Belfast, which representsOurScreen’s first venue in Northern Ireland, making ODEON the first ever company to bring OurScreen’s people-powered-cinema technology to the region.
Seven of the cinemas joining the website – those in Bracknell, Bournemouth, Dunfermline, Guildford, Leicester, Maidenhead, and Tunbridge Wells – will be the first venues in their respective towns to offer their audiences the chance to arrange people-powered-cinema screenings.
With the addition of these 20 ODEON cinemas,OurScreen now has over 80 cinemas in 44 different cities available on its website, which, for scale, means thatOurScreen are operating in almost as many cinemas as several of the UK’s largest cinema circuits are.
Screenings of My Feral Heart have already been set up in all venues on March 21st, as part of a World Down Syndrome Day charitable campaign to raise funds for the Down Syndrome Research Foundation UK in support of Don’t Screen Us Out. Tickets can be booked here.
Andy Edge, Commercial Director at Odeon UK & Ireland, said: “We’re very excited to be partnering with OurScreen, giving our guests the power to choose the films they want to see on the big screen. We are always looking at how we can provide our guests with the very best and most innovative cinema experience, which is why we’re bringing people-powered-cinema to 20 of our sites.”
Ian Cartwright, co-founder of OurScreen, commented: “We’re thrilled to have Odeon on board. Europe’s largest cinema chain embracing our people-powered, cinema-on-demand technology really validates the concept, its extensive audience-appeal, and its potential to reach every corner of Britain. This is a testament to how widely beneficial we can be for the film industry.”
