INDY Cinema Group Ltd. is delighted to announce that Matthew Preen has joined the team as Chief Executive Officer, Australia and New Zealand, and Chief Operating Officer, INDY Cinema Group.
Matthew joins us from Veezi, part of Vista Entertainment Solutions Ltd., where he served as President. Matthew brings his expertise and industry knowledge — having taken Veezi from its inception to the world’s most widely used independent cinema management software solution.
While the global cinema industry currently faces an unprecedented challenge, Ian Brown, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of INDY Cinema Group Ltd., sees these times as “an opportunity for the industry to re-set and deliver an experience that only the independent cinemas can.” Ian is therefore excited to welcome Matthew, having built mutual admiration for the passion they bring to the independent cinema industry.
INDY has been a long-time business partner with Veezi and has had the pleasure of working with Matthew for many years now. Matthew’s impressive track record of bringing conception to reality, as well as his shared INDY passion for the independent cinema world, made him the ideal choice to join INDY Cinema Group.
“[Ian and I] share the belief that the independent cinema industry is hugely important in all aspects, be it to the movie industry generally or the local community served by the amazing owners and operators,” said Matthew. While Matthew is excited to be “taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the ANZ business,” he is “just as excited to get into the strategy for the company and help build an offering that…we believe will be received well by the independent cinema operators.” Matthew is looking forward to working with owners and operators, many of whom he has already gotten to know, and to continue serving the needs of independent cinemas.
