“Halloween,” opening Friday, has already surpassed “The Nun” in total advance ticket sales and now ranks as Fandango’s top horror preseller of the year. The new thriller leads Fandango’s weekend sales and is carving out 93 out of 100 points on Fandango’s movie buzz index, Fanticipation.
“Halloween” was selected in a Fandango survey of more than 1,000 moviegoers as the most anticipated horror film of the fall. Fans pre-ordering tickets on Fandango will receive a free audio download of the iconic “Halloween Theme” from the Halloween Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies.
“The timing couldn’t be more perfect for a new ‘Halloween’ movie to open this weekend,” says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “A direct sequel to the original John Carpenter classic, this new ‘Halloween’ features all the thrills and chills movie fans want from this series, as well as a fantastic performance from Jamie Lee Curtis, who reprises one of her most iconic characters, Laurie Strode, for one more confrontation against the masked killer, Michael Myers.”
