Reel Cinemas are delighted to announce that the all new REEL Cinema Burnley will open its doors to customers old and new from Friday September 8. The purpose-built cinema can be found in the centre of town, as part of the multi million pound Pioneer Place, Curzon Street development, and will offer cinemagoers state-of-the art laser picture projection and digital audio in all seven screens, a licensed bar, and the REEL Lounge, a premium viewing experience with plush sofas and armchairs.
In addition to giving families and other moviegoers the opportunity to see a wide range of the latest Hollywood and South Asian films at unrivalled prices, the new REEL Cinema Burnley will offer community afternoon screenings, weekly autism- friendly relaxed screenings, weekly hard-of-hearing screenings, weekly two-for-one student ticket nights, and regular movie quiz nights. The wide range of concessions available will include the perennial favourite combo of popcorn & fizzy drinks, nachos, pick & mix, ice blasts, ice cream, and a selection of alcoholic drinks. Four hours of free parking will be available for customers in the adjacent car park.
The Saturday of opening weekend will see a visit from Star Wars cosplayers The 99th Garrison on the Saturday, and a special sing-along screening of “The Greatest Showman,” while anyone who visits the cinema wearing a Burnley F.C. shirt on the Sunday will be rewarded with a free scoop of REEL ice cream!
Founder of REEL Cinemas K.C. Suri said “REEL Cinemas has been serving the local community in & around Burnley for over ten years, and while we will be sad to say ‘goodbye’ to our current location at Manchester Road we are very much looking forward to moving into our brand new home in the centre of town, especially at a time when films such as “Barbie,” “Oppenheimer” and Disney/Pixar’s “Elemental” have
shown that a trip to your local cinema is once again a hugely popular choice amongst people of all ages.”
Director of REEL Cinemas Sunil Suri added “This new REEL Cinema further reinforces our commitment to the people of Burnley, and our ambition to bring the luxury cinema-going experience to audiences outside of the UK’s major cities, without the high admission price that usually accompanies it. We are looking forward to introducing customers to our new cinema over the coming weeks & months, and
are confident that the autumn & winter release schedule – which currently includes such films as the return of Kenneth Branagh’s Poirot in ‘A Haunting In Venice,’ ‘Trolls Band Together,’ ‘Dune Part Two’ and ‘Wonka” – offers something for everyone.”
About REEL Cinemas
REEL Cinemas prides itself on being at the heart of the community by offering the newest films at unrivalled prices. Founded in 2001 it is the UK’s leading truly independent cinema chain, with sixteen sites across England and Wales that offer an exceptional guest experience, giving everyone a warm welcome and keeping ticket prices low.
This attention to location, the local community, and a determination to develop new ideas underpin REEL’s commitment to constant innovation and growth. In 2018 the company unveiled its Reel Lounge concept. The Lounge is a beautifully appointed auditorium offering a state-of-the-art audiovisual experience, with stunning seats and art deco design, as a nod to the original cinema in Loughborough where the REEL story started. The REEL circuit continues to expand, with new venues planned to open in several locations over the next eighteen months.
