Seagulls in the sand have heard our prayers… Alamo Drafthouse is excited to announce the return of its interactive Movie Party series, kicking things off with the big screen debut of Lionsgate’s instant cult classic comedy “Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar,” a film tailor-made for the communal audience experience on the big screen.

“’Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar’ is an audience movie if ever there was one,” says Alamo Drafthouse founder and Executive Chairman, Tim League. “From the first time we saw it at home earlier this year we were inspired to bring it to theatrical audiences and anticipate it will join other classics that have shown a long repertory life at the movie theater.”

First up is the “Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar” Record Release Party at Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Los Angeles On September 12. Featuring a live in-theater musical performance by Richard Cheese, guests at this special screening event will also receive a copy of Mondo’s “Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar” soundtrack on vinyl and enjoy movie themed cocktails, party favors, and other fun surprises!

Beginning September 19, the “Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar” Movie Party goes nationwide with screening events taking place in Alamo Drafthouse markets coast to coast. The pandemic hiatus on Alamo Drafthouse’s famed interactive series will officially end with the arrival of this new event, with “Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar” destined to join other mega-popular Movie Party events at Alamo Drafthouse like “The Princess Bride” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.” The no talking rule at Alamo Drafthouse will take a back seat as audiences can quote and sing-along to the film. Audiences will also be treated to a pre-recorded Q&A with Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo and director Josh Greenbaum, and enjoy interactive props and themed beach party food and drink menu specials.
