Fandango, the nation’s leading digital network for all things movies reaching 63 million unique visitors per month, announced today that it has expanded its ticketing coverage in Southern California, Chicago and Washington, D.C. by adding the popular theater chain, ArcLight Cinemas. Fandango super-serves moviegoers with an unmatched national footprint of theaters, ticketing to more than 27,000 screens nationwide.
“We are excited to expand our relationship with ArcLight Cinemas into Southern California, as we’ve had great success over the past several months driving incremental audiences to locations in Chicago and the D.C. area,” says Kevin Shepela, SVP, Head of Commerce for Fandango. “ArcLight is a master at making moviegoing an event, with their deluxe cinemas, reserved seating, state-of-the-art presentation and gourmet cafes and full bars, and we’re thrilled to offer our customers the opportunity to experience movies uninterrupted at their world-class venues.”
In addition to ArcLight Cinemas theaters in Chicago and the Washington D.C. area, Fandango will provide ticketing for ArcLight Hollywood, their flagship theater complex, built around the world-famous Cinerama Dome at Sunset & Vine, as well as its top-selling screens throughout Southern California, including Santa Monica, Pasadena, Sherman Oaks, Beach Cities, Culver City, and La Jolla.
To celebrate its expanded relationship and introduce more customers to ArcLight Cinemas, Fandango and ArcLight Cinemas plan to host special event screenings for moviegoers in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Santa Monica this fall. Events may feature talent and include exclusive receptions, movie-themed parties for families, special prizes, giveaways, and more.
“ArcLight is a theater for movie lovers and ArcLight guests nationwide can now look to Fandango to stay on top of the latest films,” says Gretchen McCourt, EVP, Cinema Programming of ArcLight Cinemas. “We look forward to working closely with Fandango to grow our audience throughout the country and provide our guests convenience and ease with their ticketing experience.”
The Decurion Corporation manages ArcLight Cinemas’ sister company and another Fandango exhibition partner, Pacific Theatres, representing hundreds of popular Southland screens (including Pacific Theatres at The Grove in West Hollywood).
Reinforcing its position as the No. 1 online and mobile movie ticketer in the country, Fandango continues to grow its ticketing business in 2016, with ticket sales up 50% year-over-year.
